Research progress on early screening for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
In recent years, adolescent scoliosis has become the third leading health issue after obesity and myopia.Early scol-iosis often has no obvious symptoms and is usually discovered due to back deformity, often requiring surgical intervention followed by a confirmed diagnosis.Early screening, detection, and intervention can effectively prevent disease progression, reduce surgery rates, and improve prognosis.Early screening is crucial for the mental and physical health of adolescents,re-ducing the burden on families and society. However, widespread screening is still not common in China.Efficient screening methods that maximize medical resources are essential for early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of adolescent scoliosis. This paper reviews recent literature in China and globally on early screening methods for adolescent scoliosis, aiming to find suitable screening methods and provide references for its early detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
