Effects of timely motivational nursing on disease cognition and self-perceived burden in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis
Objective To explore the impact of timely motivational nursing on disease cognition and self-perceived burden in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS),aiming to provide guidance for nursing strategies. Methods A total of 122 CRS patients who underwent endoscopic sinus surgery at Fuyang People's Hospital from February 2021 to May 2023 were select-ed and allocated to a control group and an observation group, with 61 patients each. The control group received routine nurs-ing intervention, while the observation group received additional timely motivational nursing. The pre-and post-intervention self-perceived burden, disease cognition levels, and degree of satisfaction with nursing were compared between the two groups. Results Before intervention,no significant differences were noted in the emotional, economic, and physical sub-scales of the Self-Perceived Burden Scale(SPBS)between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention,SPBS scores in these subscales were significantly lower in both groups, with the observation group showing greater reductions(P<0.05).The Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire(B-IPQ)scores in cognitive representation, emotional representation, and disease understanding showed no significant differences before intervention(P>0.05).After intervention, scores in these subscales of B-IPQ significantly improved in both groups, with higher scores in the observation group(P<0.05).The observation group also had higher scores in the degree of satisfaction with nursing compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclu-sion Timely motivational nursing intervention promotes disease cognition, reduces self-perceived burden, and increases the degree of satisfaction with nursing in CRS patients, warranting clinical promotion.
