Research progress on integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for the treatment of chronic glomerulonephritis
Chronic glomerulonephritis is a common primary glomerular disease.It typically leads to gradual degradation of kidney function and can cause a series of symptoms such as proteinuria,hematuria,hypertension,and edema.In severe ca-ses,it may progress to chronic renal failure and severe anemia,substantially affecting the patient's health and daily life.Traditional treatment mainly relies on antihypertensive drugs,hormones,and cytotoxic drugs to slow the deterioration of kidney function.In recent years,with the continuous development of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),the concept of syndrome differentiation and treatment has been applied in the treatment of chronic glomerulonephritis,effectively allevia-ting symptoms such as hematuria,edema,and hypertension.Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine has shown greater efficacy in treating chronic glomerulonephritis compared to Western medicine alone,and it can reduce toxic side effects.To further enhance clinical outcomes,a treatment model that combines modern medicine with TCM has been widely adopted.This interdisciplinary collaboration effectively improves the treatment outcomes of chronic glomerulonephri-tis,not only alleviating symptoms and improving kidney function but also effectively slowing the progression of chronic renal failure,thus improving the patient's quality of life.This paper reviews the research progress on the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of chronic glomerulonephritis,aiming to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of the disease.
