Application effect of nursing intervention strategies via the goal achievement interaction theory in patients with glioma after chemotherapy
Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention strategies from the perspective of goal achievement inter-action theory in patients with glioma after surgery and chemotherapy, aiming to provide support for clinical treatment. Methods This study selected 75 patients with glioma who underwent chemotherapy after surgery from February 2023 to February 2024 at our hospital as the research participants.Patients were randomly assigned to a control group(n=37)and an observation group(n=38)using the random number table method. The control group received routine nursing, while the observation group received nursing intervention based on the goal achievement interaction theory in addition to routine nursing. The treatment compliance, incidence of adverse events,General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),Barthel Index(BI),and Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30(QLQ-C30)scores of the two groups were compared before and after the interven-tion(after the intervention was at the 3-month mark). Results The excellent and good rate of treatment compliance in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(97.37%vs.78.38%;P<0.05).Before inter-vention,no statistically significant difference was noted in GSES and BI scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the GSES and BI scores in both groups were increased, and scores in the observation group were higher than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse events in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(21.05%vs.43.24%;P<0.05).Before intervention,no sta-tistically significant difference was noted in the role function, physical function, cognitive function, and social function scores of the QLQ-C30 between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, these subscale scores in both groups were significantly higher than before the intervention, and scores in the observation group were significantly higher than the con-trol group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of nursing intervention via the goal achievement interaction theory in pa-tients with glioma after surgery and chemotherapy has marked effects, which can promote patients'treatment compliance, strengthen patients'self-efficacy,promote the improvement of patients'activities of daily living, reduce the incidence of ad-verse reactions, and raise the quality of life.
