Correlation between sense of mastery and health promotion behaviors in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation
Objective To investigate the status of sense of mastery and health promotion behaviors in patients with atrial fi-brillation after radiofrequency ablation, and to explore the correlation between the two, providing a reference for improving the postoperative outcomes of these patients. Methods This study enrolled 202 patients with atrial fibrillation who under-went radiofrequency ablation treatment in the Department of Cardiology at the Lanzhou University Second Hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 as the participants of the investigation. The investigation tools included a general information questionnaire, the Personal Mastery Scale(PMS),and the Chinese revised version of the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Pro-file-ⅡR(HPLP-ⅡR).Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between a sense of mastery and health promotion behaviors, and multiple linear regression analysis was adopted to analyze the influencing factors of health promo-tion behaviors in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation. Results The total score of PMS after radiofre-quency ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation was(22.52±2.53)points,and the total score of HPLP-ⅡR was(103.82±8.47)points,showing a positive correlation between the two(r=0.704,P<0.01).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, average monthly household income, severity of symptoms, and sense of mastery are influencing factors of health promotion behaviors in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with atrial fibrillation have a lower sense of mastery after radiofrequency ablation, and the level of health promotion behaviors needs to be improved.Clinical medical staff should take targeted intervention strategies to strengthen the level of sense of mastery and compliance of health promotion behaviors in patients after surgery, thereby potentiating the prognosis.
