Impact of chronic disease follow-up form management combined with Ahmadi model continuing care on the readmission and psychological status of caregivers for children with chronic enteritis and diarrhea
Objective To explore the impact of chronic disease follow-up form management combined with Ahmadi model continuing care on the readmission and psychological status of caregivers for children with chronic enteritis and diarrhea,ai-ming to provide a reference for the treatment of children with chronic enteritis and diarrhea.Methods A total of 118 chil-dren with chronic enteritis and diarrhea and their caregivers(fathers or mothers)admitted to Xijing Hospital,Air Force Medical University from February 2023 to October 2023 were selected and randomly assigned to a control group and a study group,with 59 cases in each group.The control group children received routine nursing intervention,while the study group children received chronic disease follow-up form management combined with Ahmadi model continuing care intervention.The compliance with medical advice,readmission,psychological status of caregivers,and caregiving ability and degree of satisfaction with nursing of caregivers were compared between the two groups.Results Before intervention,no significant differences were noted in the scores of medication adherence,healthy diet,and regular follow-up visits among the children in the two groups(P>0.05);the scores of medication adherence,healthy diet,and regular follow-up visits in both groups were significantly increased after intervention,and the study group scores were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).The readmission rate of children in the study group significantly lower than that in the control group[5.08%(3/59)vs.16.95%(10/59);x2=4.236,P<0.05].Before intervention,no significant differences were found in the Care-giver Strain Index(CSI)and Caregiver Burden Inventory(CBI)scores of caregivers in the two groups(P>0.05);the CSI and CBI scores of caregivers in both groups were significantly reduced after intervention,and the study group scores were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Before intervention,no significant difference was observed in the car-egiving responsibility,caregiving knowledge,caregiving skills,and caregiving concepts scores among caregivers in the two groups(P>0.05);the scores of caregiving responsibility,caregiving knowledge,caregiving skills,and caregiving concepts in both groups showed significant increase after intervention,and the study group scores were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).The degree of satisfaction with nursing of caregivers in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group[98.31%(58/59)vs.86.44%(51/59);x2=4.330,P=0.037).Conclusion Chronic dis-ease follow-up form management combined with Ahmadi model continuing care can effectively promote the compliance with medical advice of children with chronic enteritis and diarrhea,reduce the readmission rate,alleviate the psychological burden on caregivers,and increase the caregiving ability and degree of satisfaction with nursing of caregivers.
