Effects of Mobile Learning-Based Peer Tutoring on English Majors'Speaking Proficiency from the Perspective of Socio-Cultural Theory
In order to effectively enhance the English speaking proficiency of English major freshmen and promote their compre-hensive English proficiency,the author analyzes the impact of peer tutoring using FIF platform on English majors'speaking ability based on the internalization theory of socio-cultural theory.The present study adopts a mixed methods research approach,combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative interview results to assess the effectiveness of the teaching model.After one semester of prac-tice,the participating students'oral task performance show significant improvement in key dimensions such as duration control,pro-nunciation accuracy and language fluency.The study not only confirms the positive effects of peer tutoring in enhancing speaking profi-ciency,but also further explores the effectiveness of the pedagogical model integrating peer tutoring and mobile learning technology in fa-cilitating the internalization of students'speaking proficiency from the perspective of socio-cultural theory of internalization.The research result provides new perspectives and strategies for teaching spoken English and also provides reference for foreign language teaching.
