Numerical simulation of wave field in Silver Beach based on WRF wind field reanalysis
In order to obtain the wave data to analyze the hydrodynamic condition of sea area near Silver Beach which lacked observed wave data, the CFSR data of NCEP are reanalyzed based on the WRF global climate model to obtain the 10 m-height wind field with high spatial resolution, and a tide current model is established to obtain the water current field. Based on the simulation results of wind and current field, a MIKE 21 SW wave model is established to simulate and calculate the wave field in Beihai sea area. The results show that the established wave model can be effectively applied to analyze the wave field in sea area near Silver Beach where southbound waves prevail; that the waves tend to be vertical to the beach;that the wave height is mostly between 0. 2 and 0. 5 m, and that the wave period is commonly between 2 and 4 s in a year.
