Modeling cooperative lane change behavior in connected autonomous vehicles
In order to gain a deeper understanding of the dynamic interaction and game-theoretical relationships among vehicles in the context of the connected car network,a model for cooperative lane-change behavior in connected autonomous vehicles was developed, taking into account the cooperative decision-making traits inherent to lane changes in autonomous vehicles. The cooperative lane-changing behavior model considered the time of the lane-changing decision-making process as the primary safety factor, with speed gain as the optimization objective in the lane-changing game.A comparative analysis between the traditional lane-changing model and the cooperative game-based lane-changing model was conducted using SUMO simulation. The simulation results indicate that the cooperative game-based lane-changing model offers better speed gains, safety, and stability. In a heterogeneous group of vehicles, connected autonomous vehicles exhibit cooperative lane-changing behavior characteristics, and the game-based lane-changing model scientifically represents the dynamic process of lane-changing while maintaining good stability.
