Effects of short-term aging on pavement performance of warm asphalt rubber
To study the influence of short-term aging on the performance of warm-mix rubber asphalt pavement, the composition changes of rubber asphalt before and after aging were evaluated and analyzed using mass loss value. The performance of rubber asphalt before and after RTFO-aging was tested by needle penetration, softening point, and dynamic shear rheological tests. The mechanism of action was analyzed and verified by gel permeation chromatography(GPC).The results show that the performance of rubber asphalt pavement is slightly lost before and after aging. However, the modified asphalt is still within the acceptable range, much higher than that of ordinary base asphalt.Although the average analysis amount of liquid warm mix and Evotherm-DAT is small,it is easy to evaporate in the short-term aging process. However, this effect also protects the light components in the base asphalt and slows down the aging process.and warm-mix rubber asphalt has a better anti-aging effect than asphalt rubber and base asphalt.
