Career adaptability is a critical ability for university students transitioning into the workplace, with career interest being a core element. However, current analyses of university students'career interests are mainly limited to quantitative assessments, leading to a superficial understanding of their own career interests and even doubts about their value. The study employs O'NET semi-structured interviews combined with thematic deduction theory to deeply analyze five dimensions in university students'career adaptability stories:attention, control, curiosity, confidence, and cooperation. The aim is to explore how semi-structured interviews qualitatively link career interest codes with stories across these five dimensions and reveal their role in enhancing university students'career adaptability. The results show that career adaptability stories constructed through semi-structured interviews successfully integrate quantitative and qualitative career interest assessments. This method not only helps university students gain a deeper understanding of their Holland Code for vocational interests, but also prompts them to systematically narrate their career adaptability stories, thereby effectively enhancing their career adaptability.
