Effects of hydraulic cavitation on viscosity and relative molecular weight of corn starch paste
To reveal the effect of hydraulic cavitation on the viscosity and relative molecular weight of starch, the relative molecular weight was detected by gel permeation chromatography(GPC),and the viscosity of corn starch paste was measured by Ozl viscosity, and the effects of different hydraulic cavitation conditions and starch paste concentration on the relative molecular weight and distribution and the viscosity of corn starch paste were investigated.Under the action of hydraulic cavitation, the relative molecular weight and intrinsic viscosity of corn starch paste decreased to a certain extent.Under the same conditions, with the decrease of starch paste concentration and the extension of action time, the intrinsic viscosity and relative molecular weight of starch paste after cavitation reduced, and the relative molecular weight decreased to the lowest value when the pH was 6.0,indicating that hydraulic cavitation has a great effect on the viscosity and relative molecular weight of corn starch paste, and that hydraulic cavitation has a good degradation effect on starch paste.
