Research Progress in Stem Base Rot of Passion Fruit
Passion fruit(Passiflora edulis Sims)belongs to Passifloraceae and stands as one of the major gen-era of this family.Passion fruit is highly popular for its crucial edible and medicinal values.However,the de-velopment of the passion fruit industry is frequently beset by various pests and diseases.Among them,stem base rot is exceptionally severe and considered one of the most destructive diseases,severely restricting the scale development and benefit enhancement of the passion fruit industry.This study comprehensively reviews the research progress in stem base rot of passion fruit in terms of disease symptoms,pathogen identification,disease causes,and disease control.Simultaneously,it analyzes and summarizes the deficiencies existing in the current research and prevention and control of stem base rot.In view of the deficiencies,this paper identifies the urgent problems that need to be addressed and delineates the future development directions,aiming to provide a reference for promoting the high-quality development of the passion fruit industry.
