Effects of Different Distillation Methods on Yields and Components of Baeckea frutescens Essential Oils
In order to investigate effects of distillation methods on quality of Baeckea frutescens essential oil, five distillation methods were used to extract essential oils from B.frutescens leaves and branches, including dis-tillation in water, distillation above water, diffusion distillation,re-distillation and simultaneous extraction dis-tillation,yields and components of essential oils were analyzed. Results showed that yield of essential oil by re-distillation was the highest. When using re-distillation to extract essential oil, yield was 1.101%based on mate-rial to water ratio of 8∶1 and distillation time of 2 h.In essential oil extracted by re-distillation,contents of β-pinene,4-terpineol,1,8-cineole and linalool met characteristic component requirements in Guangxi local stan-dard DB45/T 1064-2014.Results could provide references for industrial productions of B.frutescensessential oils.
