Based on the CNKI database,the CiteSpace visualization software was used to summarize the theme of the development of smallholder farmers in the past 22 years.The results show that since 2007,there has been obvious policy orientation in the research on the development of smallholder farmers in China,and the research institutions are mainly universities.The relationship between universities and research institutions is still not close enough,and a stable cooperation network has not been formed between the core authors.The phenomenon of fragmentation is obvious,which is not conducive to the deep research on smallholder farmers.Among them,the research topics are mainly modern agriculture and rural revitalization,and these two topics are most closely related to keywords such as the organic connection of smallholder farmers,new agricultural management entities,and modern agriculture.Therefore,in order to speed up the strategic process of China's agricultural and rural modernization and achieve common prosperity in rural areas,in the future,the academic community should strengthen the cooperation and exchange between universities and research institutions and core scholars,and promote interdisciplinary,cross-disciplinary,cross-institutional and cross-border cooperation,so as to accelerate the construction of cooperative relationship network and accelerate the goal and task of building a strong agricultural country.
