Comprehensive Evaluation of Regional Trials for Guangxi Sugarcane Varieties in Liuzhou Pilot from 2019 to 2021
[Objective]The purpose of this study was to discuss the performance of the newly bred and introduced sugarcane varieties in Liuzhou pilot,as well as to provide an important basis for the breeding, registration and promotion of new varieties.[Methods]From 2019 to 2021,the Guangxi regional trials of"Xintaitang No.22"(control 1),"Liucheng No.05-136"(control 2)and eight new sugarcane varieties with one-year new planting and two-year ratooning were carried out in the sugarcane test base of Liuzhou Agricultural Science Research Center. The agronomic traits, yield, sugar, sugar cuntent, fibre content, diseases and insect pests of each variety were discussed.[Results]The results showed that"Guitang No.11-2011"had high plant occurrence rate and good disease resistance. The average cane yield was 82.02 t/hm2,which were 4.09 and 0.29 percentage points higher than those of control 1 and control 2,respectively.The sugar yield was 12.66 t/hm2,which were 11.35 and 3.01 percentage points higher than those of control 1 and control 2,respectively.The average sucrose content of"Guitang No.11-2011"was 15.47%,which was the variety with advantages of early maturity,high-yield and high-sugar."Guitang No.11-2011"was a variety with better comprehensive traits in this round of regional trials.[Conclusion]"Guitang No.11-2011"could be further demonstrated and promoted in Liuzhou sugarcane production area.
