Breeding and High-yield Cultivation Techniques of New Maize Variety "Tianrun 189"
"Tianrun 189"is a hybrid combination of"Hezi BC-12"as the female parent and"Hezi 869"as the male parent by the Hechi Agricultural Science Research Institute.In 2019 and 2020,it passed the maize test in Guangxi,and the yield per 667 hectares was 378.3-662.8 kg."Tianrun 189"plants stay green for a long period of time with purple first leaf sheaths.The plant type is flat and tubular,and its grain is yellow and semi-stiff with a white rachis.The average growth period of grain in spring is 110 d and 113 d in autumn.The seedlings grow moderately.In the late field evaluation,it showed medium resistance(MR)to sheath blight,medium resistance(MR)to southern rust,medium resistance(MR)to northern leaf blight,resistance to southern leaf blight,sensitivity(S)Fusarium verticillioide disease,high resistance(HR)to Fusarium graminearum.The quality of"Heyu 848"in the quality measurement results exceeded the national standards for fiest-class food corn and feed corn."Tianrun 189"can be sown above 12℃when the temperature is stable in spring,and can be sown from late July to early August in autumn.Attention should be paid to the control of underground pests such as cutworm seedling stage.Fertilizer should be applied in a timely manner during the period of V12.Throughout the entire growth period,should be given pay attention to the biological control of corn grass armyworm,while insect pests such as corn borer and corn aphids can be controlled by trichogramma.Corn is harvested in a timely manner according to planting purpose.
