Comprehensive Evaluation of Different Grafting Methods of Magnolia macclurei
Michelia macclurei is one of the superior trees for afforestation,suitable for creating multi-layered forests and enhancing plantation varieties.At present,there is an urgent need for expansion and upgrading at the National Michelia macclurei Superior Variety Base of Yulin Forestry Science Research Institute.To identify the most effective grafting method for Magnolia macclurei the effects of different grafting techniques on survival rate,graft union diameter,scion diameter,scion height,and healing condition were studied.A comprehensive evaluation of the different methods was conducted using the average value of membership functions to select the optimal grafting method.The results indicated that the comprehensive evaluation ranking of the four different treatments was T1>T2>T4>T3,with the optimal grafting method being bark grafting with leaves retained on the rootstock.The T1 and T2 grafting methods can serve as a theoretical basis for the preliminary grafting work in the expansion and upgrading of superior variety bases.
