Effects of Boron and Gibberellin Spraying on Yield and Fruit Quality of Macadamia
The effects of boron and gibberellin spraying on yield and fruit quality of macadamia variety'HASE695'were studied to provide theoretical basis for quality and efficiency improving cultivation techniques.Field plot experiment was conducted to determine the fruit abscission rate, yield per plant, fruit appearance quality(single fresh fruit weight, single shell fruit weight, shell fruit longitudinal diameter, shell fruit transverse diameter, fruit shape index, seed percentage, kernel percentage)and nutritional quality(crude fat, protein, total sugar, amino acid)under 100mg/L gibberellin(T1),0.3%boron(T2)and 100 mg/L gibberellin combined with 0.3%boron(T3).The results showed that T1 and T2 treatments significantly increased the yield per plant, and T3 treatment significantly reduced the fruit drop rate, extremely significantly increased the yield per plant, significantly or extremely significantly increased the protein, total sugar and amino acid contents in the kernel compared with the control. It was found that 100mg/L gib-berellin combined with 0.3%boron had the best effect, which could significantly improve yield and fruit quality of macadamia.
