Effects of Different Cultivation Methods and Post-harvest Treatments on the Quality of Stored Fruits of Chuncheng 1 Sweet Orange
[Objective]This paper investigated the effects of different cultivation methods and postharvest treatments on the quality of Chuncheng 1 sweet orange fruits under storage in order to provide a reference for the postharvest treatment and storage of citus fruits.[Method]The fruit qual-ity of Chuncheng 1 sweet orange was tested using the postharvested fruits without water rinse before storage but they came from both open field cultivation and facility cultivation, respectively. At the same time, the fruits of Chuncheng 1 sweet orange cultivated in facilities were treated with three ways, that is,no rinse, water rinse, and dipping in 250 mg/L imazamethapyr 25%aqueous emulsion for 1 min before storage, respectively, and the storage effects in different treatments were observed.[Result]The results showed that the facility cultivated fruits had better storage endurance, which re-sulted in lower decay and weight loss rates compared with the fruits from open field cultivation dur-ing the storage experiment duration. After 4 months of storage, the best storage effect was observed in the facility cultivated fruits treated with 250 mg/L miconazole 25%aqueous emulsion, which showed the lowest decay and weight loss rates among all the three traetments, and the decay rate, weight loss rate, soluble solids content, titratable acid content, and vitamin C content were 5.55%,20.86%,10.68%,0.59%,and 280.6 mg/kg,respectively,in this treatment. The water rinse treatment gave the worst results, failing to reduce the decay rate but showing a significant rise in weight loss.[Conclusion]In general, facility cultivation production was more conducive to the storage of Chuncheng 1 sweet orange fruits;water rinsing treatment was not beneficial to the fruit postharvest storage of the facility cultivated fruits;appropriate use of preservative treatment within the range of safety standards could reduce the postharvest decay loss, improve the storage endurance of orange fruits, and obtain a longer satisfactory shelf life.
