Objective To understand the characteristics and changing trends of malignant tumor deaths in Daishan from 2014 to 2022,and to provide evidence for formulating malignant tumors control strategies.Methods The data regarding the death of malignant tumors among residents in Daishan from 2014 to 2022 were collected.The malignant tumor mortality,standardized mortality,cumulative mortality rate from 0 to 74 years old and truncated mortality rate from 35 to 64 years old were calculated,and rank of death causes and average annual percentage change(AAPC)were analyzed.Results From 2014 to 2022,the average annual mortality rate of malignant tumors among residents in Daishan county was 328.43/100 000,the standardized mortality rate was 160.43/100 000,the cumulative mortality rate of malignant tumors aged 0-74 was 13.25％,and the truncated mortality rate of malignant tumors aged 35-64 was 161.29/100 000.The mortality of malignant tumors showed an increasing trend(AAPC=2.203％,t=3.511,P=0.010),and the standardized mortality showed decreasing trend(AAPC=-3.033％,t=-4.099,P=0.005)from 2014 to 2022.There were 3 515 male death cases of malignant tumors,with a mortality rate of 439.52/100 000 and a standardized mortality rate of 215.70/100 000.There were 1 804 female death cases of malignant tumors,with a mortality rate of 220.06/100 000 and a standardized mortality rate of 108.10/100 000.Both the mortality and standardized mortality of males were higher than females.The top five causes of death from malignant tumors were lung cancer,liver cancer,stomach cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreatic cancer,accounted for 72.02％(3 831/5 319)of all malignant tumor deaths.The lung cancer accounted for 24.85％of all malignant tumor deaths.The major cause of death from malignancy tumors in aged before 15 years was leukemia,and in aged after 45 years were lung cancer,liver cancer,and stomach cancer.Among the major malignant tumors,the mortality of stomach cancer(AAPC=2.073％,t=2.402,P=0.047),colorectal cancer(AAPC=4.318％,t=3.297,P=0.013),and pancreatic cancer(AAPC=13.546％,t=3.360,P=0.012)showed increasing trends.Conclusions The overall mortality rate of malignant tumors among residents in Daishan County showed an upward trend from 2014 to 2022,while the standardized mortality showed a downward trend.Lung cancer and digestive system malignant tumors are key types of cancer for prevention and control.Comprehensive prevention and treatment measures such as prevention,screening,and diagnosis should be taken to reduce the mortality rate of malignant tumors.
