Considering a two-dimensional preventive maintenance strategy for products,such as new energy vehicles,a base warranty extension method was proposed.Firstly,an expected warranty cost model was established for products under different two-dimensional PM levels.A demand function for products with an extended base warranty period was proposed.Secondly,the optimal extension of the base warranty was given to maximize the manufacturer's expected net profit.Finally,a case study of new energy vehicles'two-dimensional base warranty extension was given to illustrate the optimal extension under different two-dimensional PM levels,and a sensitivity analysis of the effects of key parameters on the optimal warranty extension was conducted.The proposed method will extend the research fields of two-dimensional warranty period design and optimization.It will be helpful for the manufacturer to conduct the two-dimensional base warranty extension.
