Research on the Service Pricing for an Observable Double-queueing System
In an observable double-queueing system, cases of two homogeneous queues and two heterogeneous queues were investigated. When two queues were homogeneous, the optimal service prices that separately maximized the server provider's profit and social welfare were obtained. When two queues were heterogeneous,an extra charge(subsidy)pricing strategy was proposed. The impact of the parameter, which represented the two queues'differences, was analyzed in system performance. The result illustrates that when the parameter is large, the service provider should charge an extra fee to the queue where customers can obtain a higher return. However, when the parameter is small,it should be given a certain subsidy. Finally, the extra charge(subsidy)pricing strategy and the single pricing strategy were compared. The result shows that the single pricing strategy may lead to profit loss.
