Group Maintenance Policy of Manufacturing Systems Considering Limited Maintenance Workers and Multiple Types of Dependencies
The machines in large-scale manufacturing systems are subject to complex structural, stochastic, economic, and resource dependencies.Limited maintenance workforce is shared by multiple machines.Too few maintenance workers would extend maintenance downtime, while too many maintenance workers would lead to wasted resource and increased costs. To study the influence of limited maintenance workforce and multiple dependencies on group maintenance strategy, firstly,a dual-threshold conditional-based maintenance model for a single machine was established.Secondly, the effects of limited maintenance workforce and multiple dependencies on downtime and maintenance cost were considered, and a group maintenance model for a parallel-series manufacturing system was established. Then, the optimal maintenance personnel number and time window length were optimized by minimizing the total maintenance cost. Finally,an example of an air conditioning compressor shell manufacturing system was presented. At least 2.85%of maintenance cost is reduced compared with hiring sufficient maintenance workers. The novelty of the proposed model lies in the simultaneous consideration of the four types of dependencies as well as limited workforce.
