Effects of Exogenous Strigolactones on Root Growth of Poa Pratensis L.cv.Qinghai
Strigolactones(SLs)is a new type of plant hormones, and it plays an important role in regulating plant growth and development, stimulating seed germination of parasitic plants and mediating plant adaptability to stress.Poa pratensis L.cv.Qinghai was used as the study material with using strigolactones analogue GR24 in-stead of SLs to clarify its effect on the plant root growth by root scanner.A randomized block experiment design was applied with 4 concentration gradients of 0 mol/L,0.1 mol/L,0.5 mol/L,1 mol/L,and 2 treatment cycles of 6 d and 12 d.The results show that:(1)GR24 significantly increased the total root length, main root length, root surface area, root volume, mean diameter and the number of the main root, but significantly decreased the lateral root length and number of lateral root with the increase of treatment period.GR24 could promote the root growth of Poa Pratensis L.cv.Qinghai after spraying for 12 d.(2)In the same period, spraying 0.1~1 mol/L GR24 could promote the root growth of Poa Pratensis L.cv.Qinghai and the effect of GR24 on root growth was the best at con-centrationof 0.5 mol/L.Therefore,this study concluded that the application of 0.5 mol/L GR24 solution to the roots of Poa pratensis L.cv.Qinghai for 12 d had a good effect on promoting its root growth.
