A Study on the Correlation Between MicroRNA and Malnutrition in Tibetan Children and Adolescents Across Different Altitudes in Tibet
Objective:To investigate the correlation between microRNAs and malnutrition among Tibetan chil-dren and adolescents at different altitudes in Tibet, and to explore the core microRNAs that play a key role in reg-ulating the occurrence of malnutrition in Tibetan children and adolescents. Methods:A case-control study was conducted in 2020,collecting plasma samples from 5 Tibetan students in malnourished and well-nourished groups at high altitude(4 500 m)and relatively low altitude(2 800 m)in different regions of Tibet for microRNA chip analysis.Bioinformatics methods were utilized to screen for microRNAs that play a core regulatory role in malnutrition among Tibetan children and adolescents at different altitudes. Results:Compared with the high-al-titude nutritionally normal group, the microRNAs that played a core role in regulating malnutrition in Tibetan children and adolescents were:miR-1275,miR-3620-3p,miR-513a-5p,Compared with the relatively low-alti-tude nutritionally normal group, the microRNAs that played a core role in regulating malnutrition in Tibetan chil-dren and adolescents were:miR-7847-3p,miR-4298,miR-4728-5p.Conclusion:MicroRNAs may affect the occurrence of malnutrition among Tibetan children and adolescents at different altitudes.
