The documents of"letter of repentance"(hui cuo zi),mainly recording the mediation of the disputes over ag-ricultural and forestry production as well as family matters,are an important part in Qingshuijiang historical documents of Guizhou's large-scale archival materials.A large number of these documents in Qingshuijiang region in the period from Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China(ROC)survived.By organizingand analyzing those letters of repentance,this paper makes a study on the mediation of forestry disputes in this region during this period,which is of certain reference value for us to deeply understand the importance of mediation in forestry disputes,enhance national unity,stabilize so-cial order,comprehensively promote the rule of law,and build a peaceful China.
