摘要
德国作家歌德的书信体小说《少年维特之烦恼》在中国的译介经历了百年的曲折历程,自1922年郭沫若译本出版以来,截至2022年底,先后出版过137种不同译者翻译的《维特》.在《维特》的百年汉译过程中,既出现过两次轰动中国的"维特热",也发生过200多家出版社受商业利益驱使跟风翻译、出版所造成的出版界"生态灾难".通过考证和评析这些译本发现,实际上真正潜心研究和译介《维特》的译者寥若晨星,直到2019年卫茂平等人汉译的法兰克福版《歌德全集》第八卷问世,才终于让我国的《维特》译介迈上一个更高的台阶.
Abstract
"The Sorrows of Young Werther",an epistolary novel by German author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe,has ex-perienced a century-long troubled journey in its translation and introduction into China.From the publication of Guo Moruo's translated version in 1922 until the end of 2022,"Werther"had seen the publication of 137 different Chinese translation versions.During the one hundred years,the translation of"Werther"in China experienced two"Werther"fe-vers and a"publishing chaos"where more than 200 publishers released their own translations for commercial interest.Through examining and analyzing these translations,this paper finds that there were very few translators who were truly dedicated to the study and translation of"Werther"until 2019 when the Chinese translation by Wei Maoping and others of Volume 8 of Goethe's Works(Frankfurt Edition)was published,which indicates that translation of"Werther"in China has reached a new level of excellence.
