In the mid-to-late Ming Dynasty,"Longqing Kaiyang"(lifting of maritime prohibition in the Longqing era)in Zhangzhou's Yuegang Port was one of the most significant economic activities in the coastal areas of Fujian.The profound reasons behind this phenomenon are worth in-depth investigation.The concept that development of thought and culture drives ideological emancipation,institutional reform,and the construction and establishment of mainstream ideology,which in turn affects the transformation and upgrading of economy,can be seen as a new approach to studying"Longqing Kaiyang"at Yuegang Port.By examining the formation of Wang Yangming's philosophy of righteousness and interest,the service of Wang Yangming's later disciples in Fujian during the Jiajing and Longqing era,and the study of the governance philosophy and humanistic thoughts of the three Fujian governors in the late Jiajing era,this paper has found that Wang Yangming's Mind Study provided ideological preparation,social environment,and political support for this lifting of maritime prohibition.In other words,Wang Yangming School in Fujian in the mid-to-late Ming Dynasty was an important element in promoting"Longqing Kaiyang"in Yuegang Port.
