Application Status and Prospects of Detection Methods for Living Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli
Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli(STEC),as an important foodborne pathogenic bacteria,is a serious threat to human health. The rapid and accurate detection of STEC is an effective method for the prevention and control of relative diseases. This paper reviews the current methods used to detect living STEC,which mainly include traditional cell culture method, immunological detection method and molecular biology method, and discusses the application and development prospects of these methods. With the development of molecular biology and bioengineering technology, the joint use of different detection methods can overcome the defects of using a single method, and achieve more efficient and accurate detection objectives.
