Study on the Effect of Effective Parts of Total Flavonoids of Rostellularia Procumbens Against Murine Experimental Osteoporosis
This research explores the effect and mechanism of effective parts of total flavonoids of Rostellularia procumbens against the murine experimental osteoporosis induced by prednisone acetate. The experimental subjects are 50 mice, which are randomly divided into the normal control group, the high, medium and low dose groups of effective parts of total flavonoids of Rostellularia procumbens and the model group.Through filled stomaches of mice with prednisone acetate, the mice are induced to develope the experimental osteoporosis. Each group of mice are filled stomaches respectively with corresponding medicines, once a day. After executing these operations for 4 weeks, the researchers take serum of these mice to test the biochemical indexes, and test the bone physical and biochemical indicators of thigh bone of mice. The results show that the level of bone hydroxyproline, bone calcium and bone phosphorus of the thigh bones of the prednisone acetate model mice are significantly decreased(P<0.01),and the level of blood calcium, blodd phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase in mice serum are significantly increased(P<0.01).Compared with the model group, the effective parts dose groups of total flavonoids of Rostellularia procumbens can significantly increase the thigh bone weight and its content(P<0.01),and increase the content of alkaline phosphatase in serum(P<0.05).Therefore,it is validated that the efective parts of total flavonoids of Rostellularia procumbens can effectively resist murine with experimental osteoporosis.
