Analysis of Antibacterial Effects of 32 Daily Hand Sanitizers Used by Residents
People frequently use hand sanitizers, particularly those with the antibacterial effect in daily live. This study tracked 32 hand sanitizer products that were gathered from participants'homes, and evaluated the inhibitory effect of various hand sanitizer products on Escherichia coli, based on the test method for antibacterial performance of dissolution resistant(or inhibitory)bacteria products in the current Chinese standard GB 15979-2002.The results revealed that six of the eight hand sanitizers had an antibacterial rate of greater than 99.99%against Escherichia coli, indicating a robust antibacterial impact.Twenty-three of the twenty-four instant hand sanitizers with an antibacterial rate of over 90%against Escherichia coli were determined to have high antibacterial effects, and the remaining one sample had an antibacterial rate of 81.8%,indicating a strong antibacterial impact. Therefore, most antibacterial hand sanitizers used in daily life have a good inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli and can achieve the expected antibacterial effect.
