Research on Significance of Changes in T Lymphocyte Subsets in Patients with Viral Pneumonia
Viral pneumonia is the lung parenchymal and interstitial inflammation caused by the viral invasion into the upper respiratory tract epithelium and alveolar epithelial cells. The immune response plays an important role in suppressing viral infection. However, the immune response is a"double-edged sword".On the one hand,it may accelerate the removal of the virus and promote the recovery of the body.On the other hand, the excessive activation of the immune response may aggravate the inflammatory response, and lead to the cytokine storm. In severe cases,it also may be complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome and multiple organ failure, and even lead to death.A comprehensive understanding of T lymphocyte changes in patients with viral pneumonia may play an important role in disease diagnosis, disease condition and prognosis assessments, and other aspects.
