Review of Wnt and Notch signaling in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis
The pathogenesis of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is not fully understood.By analyzing the domestic and foreign literatures, this paper discusses the Wnt and Notch signaling plays an important role in the differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis of OA bone cells, and maintain the phenotype of chondrocytes and matrix metabolism. The abnormal signal pathway may be the key factor of the imbalance of bone metabolism and the formation of KOA.
