Investigation and Analysis of TCM Constitution among 931 Patients with Diabetes in Yangpu District of Shanghai
Objective:Investigated the TCM Constitution of patients with diabetes in communities of Siping and Yinhang in Yang Pu District,Shanghai to understand the physical condition of the patients with diabetes,for providing scientific evidence for the traditional Chinese medical science involved in diabetic health management.Methods:Investigated the TCM Constitution among 931 patients with diabetes in the communities of Siping and Yinhang,Yang Pu district,Shanghai based on " Chinese Constitution Classification and Determination Table" published by Chinese Medical Association.Result:(1) The ratio of Balanced constitution was 52.31％.The first four of the unbalanced constitution included Yang-deficient constitution,Qi-deficient constitution,phlegm dampness and Yin-deficient constitution,the ratio of them was 12.46％、11.06％、8.16％、7.20％ respectively.(2)There were more male than female with the balanced constitution.Damp-heat constitution,phlegm dampness,inherited special constitution,stagnant Blood;Qi-deficient constitution,stagnant Qi constitution,Yang-deficient constitution,and Yin-deficient constitution in male was obviously lower than those of female.(3) As the age growth,the balanced constitution of patients with diabetes was decreasing,the stagnant Qi constitution and Yang-deficient constitution are increasing.Conclusion:The constitution of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM Constitution) among patients with diabetes in our community was conducted mainly in the balanced constitution,and the different sex and age groups in the different TCM constitutional types should be taken full consideration during conducting the TCM intervention and traditional Chinese medicine health management.
