The Effect of Gengnian Decoction on the Sex Hormones of Test Rats with Kidney Yang Deficiency in the Period of Menopausal Transition
Objective:To observe the effect and security of Gengnian decoction on the sex hormone levels in rats with kidney Yang deficiency.Methods:Selected 80 natural aging perimenopausal female SD rats and injected them with hydrocortisone to build the rats model with deficiency of kidney-yang.Then divided them randomly into four groups:the Gengnian decoction group (A) the textbook decoction group (B),the Tibolone group (C) and the normal saline group (D).A young group (E)and an elderly group(F),each with 20 SD female rats,were chosen as the control groups.We took blood samples after successfully giving all of the rats of the experimental groups in 15 days.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA) were used to measure the levels of P、FSH、LH、E2、GnRH、ALT、Cr.Results:(1) The levels of serum E2、P in Group A,B and C increased significantly compared with Group D (P ＜ 0.01),and reduced the level of FSH.The differences between Group A and Group B and C were not significant (P ＞ 0.05);(2) The levels of serum LH、GnRH in Group A and C were reduced significantly compared with Group D (P ＜0.01),Group B compared with Group D also could reduce the levels of serum LH、GnRH,but lower than the Group A and C.The difference between Group A and C was not significant (P ＞ 0.05);(3) ALT and Cr had no statistical significance between the groups (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion:Gengnian Decoction could improve levels of model rats' serum E2,P and reduced levels of LH,FSH,GnRH to achieve the goal of treatment of menopausal syndrome.
