Clinical Study of Inhibitory Effect of Gargle with Chinese Medicine on Dental Plaque in 30 Patients Wearing Orthodontic Appliance
Objective:To investigate the inhibitory efficacy of gargle with Chinese medicine on dental plaque in patients wearing fixed appliance.Methods:Sixty gingivitis patients in fixed orthodontic treatment were selected and randomly divided into chlorhexidine gargle group (the control group) and Chinese medical gargle group (the treatment group) evenly.The indexes of plaque of each group were tested respectively before the treatment,after 7 days and 14 days.Then the statistical analysis was performed.Methods:After 7 days' treatment,each group' s PLI had great improvement compared with that before treatment (P ＜ 0.05) and there was no significant difference between the two groups.There was no significant difference between the two groups after 14 days' treatment (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion:Gargle with Chinese medicine is effective in inhibiting plaque accumulation in patients wearing orthodontic appliance and there was no difference between gargle with Chinese medical and chlorhexidine gargle.Gargle with Chinese medicine is worth promotion and application
