Characteristics of Scirpus triqueter absorbing and accumulating heavy metals of Cd,Zn,Cu,As,and Pb in contaminated soil
In order to investigate the capability of Scirpus triqueter in remediating heavy metal contam-inated soil, samples of Scirpus triqueter and soil were collected from farmland within a mining area in Tongling,Anhui Province,China. The concentrations of cadmium(Cd),copper(Cu),arsenic(As),zinc(Zn),and lead(Pb)in the roots, stems, and flowers were measured.Combined with relevant literature, the enrichment and translocation characteristics of Cd,Cu,As,Zn,and Pb by Scirpus triqueter were analyzed. The results showed that the average contents of heavy metals in differ-ent parts of Scirpus triqueter followed the order of Zn>Cu>As>Pb>Cd,and the order of flower>root>stem. The BCF and TF of each part ranged from 0.03 to 18.10 and from 0.84 to 1.63,re-spectively.Scirpus triqueter exhibited extremely strong enrichment capability for Cd and relatively good enrichment capability for Zn.However,it showed relatively poor enrichment capability for Cu,As,and Pb overall, except for a certain enrichment capability for Cu in the flowers. The flower of Scirpus triqueter demonstrated high translocation ability for Cu and Zn,while the stem showed strong translocation ability for Cu,Cd,and Pb.
