Study of the Influence of Corrugated Fin Parameters on Porous Medium Approximation
The application of the Porous Medium Approximation(PM approach)in engineering is an efficient time-saving approach. To investigate the impact of various geometric parameters of corrugated fins(fin height, spacing, double wave height, wavelength, porosity)on PM approach, numerical simulations are conducted using ANSYS Fluent software, referencing existing experimental data on corrugated fins. The results indicate:In the calculations, the use of the PM approach for corrugated fins with a Reynolds number of 800 results in a time savings of over 48%.Flow errors increased by the PM approach increase with the rise in aspect ratio(a∗)and corrugation amplitude(wa).Heat transfer errors increase with the increase in porosity(γ)in the investigated calculations.
