Application Progress of Three Carbon Material/Conductive Polymer Composite Coating Prepared by Electrodeposition Method on Surface of Metal Bipolar Plates
The problem of metal bipolar plates of proton exchange membrane fuel cells being prone to corrosion in acidic environments is introduced in this paper, resulting in reduced fuel cell output efficiency.Four anti-corrosion mechanisms of conductive polymer coatings on the surface of metal bipolar plates are outlined, including physical barrier mechanism, anode protection, intelligent release mechanism and electric field shielding mechanism.Taking polypyrrole(PPY)and polyaniline(PANI)as examples, the application of three carbon materials/conductive polymer composite coatings on the surface of metal bipolar plates:carbon nanotubes, graphene, and carbon powder prepared by electrodeposition in recent years is reviewed in this paper. The application status from the preparation method, coating material, base material, test environment, corrosion resistance performance, and morphology is summarized and compared as well. Finally, the challenges and future requirements of carbon material/conductive polymer composite coatings are prospected.
