Preparation and Properties of Melamine Derivatives Modified with Palmitoyl Chloride
The reaction between melamine and hexadecanoyl chloride(palmitoyl chloride)as an acylating agent resulted in the production of hexadecanoylated melamine(PM)after optimizing the reaction conditions.Four acylating agents, namely palmitoyl chloride, oxaloyl chloride, sulfonyl chloride, and acryloyl chloride, were used to obtain the corresponding acylated melamine. The reaction conditions and product properties were compared, followed by a comparison of the properties of the dermatomimetic resins(MFs)and palmitoylated dermatomimetic resins(PMFs).Finally,a comparison was made between the properties of MF and PMF.The PM structure underwent analysis through FT-IR,1H-NMR,and SEM characterization.Additionally, the thermal stability of PM was studied using TGA.The results indicate that the synthesis and purification method produced a high yield(90%)and a high thermal decomposition temperature(367.4℃).Furthermore,the PM powder exhibited hydrophobicity with a water contact angle of up to 143°.The PMF resin has a higher solids content(59.8%)and viscosity(150.6 mPa·s)compared to MF resin, which is significant for future research and application of MF resin.
