Ascites is a common clinical complication in patients with liver cancer.The treatment of ascites has important implications in alleviating the suffering of liver cancer patients,improving their life quality and survival rate.The treatment of ascites in modern medicine includes peritoneal puncture and drainage,as well as internal administration of Western medicine,but there are certain limitations.With the gradual deepening of re-search on the prevention and treatment of tumor with traditional Chinese medicine,the unique advantages of ex-ternal treatment of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of ascites have emerged.In this paper,the etiology,pathogenesis,pathological mechanism and various methods in treating hepatocellular Ascite with external TCM treatments are discussed.It is believed that external TCM treatment can treat hepatocellular ascites by regulating immunity,improving microcirculation,modulating inflammatory factors and killing tumor cells,so as to improve patients'symptoms,improve their survival rate and bringing them relief.
