Research Progress of Banxia Houpu Decoction(半夏厚朴汤)in the Treatment of Depres-sion
It is recorded in Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Coffer that Banxia Houpu decoction is com-posed of Banxia,Houpu,Zi Su,Gan Jiang and Fu Ling.Its pathogenesis is mostly related to qi stagnation and blood stasis,and is often used to treat a variety of digestive system diseases,including but not limited to depres-sion,insomnia,respiratory disease,reflux Esophagitis,and etc.And it also can be used for the treatment of re-spiratory diseases,such as coronary heart disease,chronic bronchitis and pulmonary heart disease with obvious effect.In recent years,with the accelerating pace of social life,the increasing pressure of people's life and other various mental tension factors,the incidence rate of depression has increased year by year.The current research showed a close relationship between depressive emotions and individual psychological states.Psychological fac-tors are an important part of depressive emotions.Low mood,delayed thinking,and low spirits are symptoms caused by depression.In recent years,more studies have suggested that job burnout is an important factor in the development of depression.With the progress of society and the improvement of education level,the incidence of occupational stress depression is showing a significant growth trend.Banxia Houpu decoction has the effects of soothing liver and regulating qi,tonifying spleen and eliminating dampness,dispelling stasis and transforming phlegm.At present,there is little research on the improvement mechanism of Banxia Houpu decoction in trea-ting depression,and there is a lack of systematic summary.The purpose of this study is to discuss the applica-tion of Banxia Houpu decoction in the epidemiology of depression and the cognition of traditional Chinese medi-cine,to further analyze the research progress of pharmacological effects in recent years so as to provide more new ideas for clinical treatment of depression.
