In the current upgrading and expansion of wastewater treatment plants in Guangdong Province, the insufficient reserved land has become a key factor restricting the selection of treatment processes, highlighting the importance of spatial constraints in the renov-ation.This article provides a new perspective, focusing on the intensive use of land.Through the selection and application of land-saving treatment processes, the land use indicators for upgrading and expansion are reduced to 0.19 m2/(m3·d-1)and 0.36 m2/(m3·d-1),respectively.The effluent quality meets all standards, and at the same time, the utilization of land resources is significantly optimized. This can provide effective reference for similar wastewater treatment plants.
