Biomass and Productivity of Two Primary Secondary Forests in Bailongjiang,Gansu Province
Forest biomass and productivity are closely related to the carbon sequestration capacity of forest ecosystem. This study aims to establish the relative growth equations between biomass and diameter at breast height(DBH).The secondary forests of Betula albosinensis and Quercus wutaishansea were also taken as the reach objects from the Bailong River of Gansu Province,China. The standard wood harvesting method was used to calculate the biomass, productivity and distribution. The results show that:(1)The total biomass of Quercus Liaotungensis and Betula betula increased by 3.17-18.3 and 16.07-16.36t·hm-2,respectively,in 2022,compared with 2019.The biomass was ranked in the descending order of the main stem>root>branch>leaf in the two secondary forests, with the trunk biomass accounting for the 55.6%-61.78%and leaf biomass the 2.48%-8.83%.(2)There was the difference in the average productivity of two secondary forests.A significant difference was found in the average pro-ductivity of Quercus Liaotungensis. But there was the same average annual productivity of red birch. The overall pro-ductivity was then ranked in the order of the trunk>root>branch>leaf.(3)The average productivity was posi-tively correlated with the altitude, slope and DBH.By contrast, the canopy cover and density were negatively corre-lated,while the slope and density were significantly negatively correlated.
