Effect of Sodium Hydrosulfide on Active Ingredients and Antioxidant Capacity of Cyclocarya paliurus Leaves
This study aims to explore the effect of sodium hydride(NaHS,a hydrogen sulfide,H2 S donor)on the bioactive ingredients and antioxidant capacity of leaves.Exogenous H2 S solution was then verified to improve the me-dicinal value of Cyclocarya paliurus leaves. The experimental materials were taken as one-year old C.paliurus seed-lings.Four treatments were set as NaHS1(0.1 mM),NaHS2(0.5 mM),and NaHS3(1.0 mM),and the CK(control check)with different concentrations of NaHS.Artificial climate chamber was utilized to determine the varia-tion in the active ingredient contents and antioxidant capacity of C.paliurus leaves under the control conditions. The results showed that:(1)There was the decrease in the content of total flavonoids in the leaves of Cyclocarya paliurus after exogenous NaHS treatment. While there was no significant change in the content of total polysaccharides and triterpenoids.(2)The free radical clearance rates of ABTS and DPPH were significantly positively correlated with the content of total polyphenolic active ingredients(P<0.05)in the leaves of Cyclocarya paliurus, indicating the great increase. Therefore, the optimal concentration of NaHS can be expected to enhance the medicinal value of Cy-clocarya paliurus.
