Community Structure and Species Diversity of Castanopsis platyacantha and Sycopsis triplinervia Forest in Wumeng Mountains Reserve
Here the community ecology was used to explore the community structure and species diversity of Castan-opsis platyacantha and Sycopsis triplinervia in the mid-montane humid ever-green broad-leaved forest in Wumeng Mountains Nature Reserve Areas in Yunnan Province,China. The results showed that:(1)There were 175 species of vascular plants in the sample plot, belonging to 64 families and 103 genera. The distribution areas of seed plant families and genera were then divided into 12 types, including the widespread, tropical and temperate type.(2)The dominant tree species in the tree layer, shrub layer and herbaceous layer of the community were Castanopsis platyacantha and Sycopsis triplinervia,Chimonobambusa tumidissinoda,Elatostema cuspidatum, respectively. The im-portance and quantity of species showed the varying degrees of positive correlation. The correlation intensity was ranked in the descending order of the shrub layer>herbaceous layer>tree layer.(3)Shannon-Weiner diversity index and Pielou evenness index of the community were ranked in the descending order of the shrub layer>herba-ceous layer>tree layer, whereas,Margalef richness and Simpson dominance indexes were the tree layer>herba-ceous layer>shrub layer.(4)The trees of the first age and height class I were dominated in the community, while the second age and height class Ⅱ were in the tree layer. The community rich in species with the stable growth was conducive to the stability of the ecological system and biodiversity in the nature reserve.
