Geographical Linguistic Analysis of"Centipede"in Buyi Language
By means of geographical linguistics this paper lists the distribution of the term"centipede"in 91 Buyi dialect points,showing its linguistic forms and explaining its relevant semantic conceptual cognitions.The Buyi"centi-pede"has 8 phonetic types in total,the first type of which"θip"and its va-riants taking the biggest percentage in forms and distribution scope.Except for diphthongs in some areas,most of the phonetic forms of"centipede"are monosyllables generally ending with stops including/p/and/t/;compared with the Zhuang and Thai languages of the same language family,the Buyi"centipede"is weakly consistent across its vernacular points.
