Emotional Embedding:Educational Assistance as Governance Practice and Value Implications—A Case Study of the G Foundation
In recent years, along with the deep penetration of information technology into the educational sector the instrumental, rational governance rhetoric where categorization, calculability and variability are the core has become a major model of educational assistance.Nevertheless,over-dependence on technical means tends to make people ignore the emotional needs of educa-tional assistance recipients. Also,it allows much space for such values as the emphasis on order, the pursuit of efficiency and the grab of interests in edu-cational assistance, which goes against the original intention.Given this situ-ation,the educational assistance practice of the G Foundation indicates that the emotional embedding governance mechanism, where emotions are the means and the"relationship-structure"is the method,is conducive to forming an effective complement to the instrumental, rational approach in educational assistance in a more flexible manner, and possesses the triple value implications, that is,adjusting the traditional inflexible bureaucratic structure, promoting the return of educational behavior to the fundamental educational law,and balancing the operation logic between society and mar-ket.
