Symbol and National Identity:A Case Study of Cultural Reproduction of Worship of Ancestor WANG Ji in the Northern Border of China and Myanmar
Few people have paid attention to the phenomenon of multi-ethnic cross-border WANG Ji worship in the northern boundary of China and Burma from the perspective of cultural reproduction.Systematic investigation was made about the practice of WANG Ji worship in Achang people,Lisu people and Wang family of Han nationality living in the border from the perspective of culture reproduction, and especially"deep description"was made about the three worship ceremonies in Mingguang,Diantan and Myitkyina.Based on these, this paper probes into the internal logic between the national identity and the cross-ethnic and transnational sharing of national symbols.Promoting the study of symbols can provide historical and cultural resources for strengthening the national identity of cross-border nationalities.
